EAP Malaysia is the pioneer of the provision of Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) therapy in Malaysia and was established by Wisconsin Early Autism Project (WEAP) in September 2006. For all therapists, a preliminary training consisting of 20 hours of courses and 3 weeks on hand-held training is called for prior to starting collaborate with a child with autism after which normal fortnightly if not weekly guidance is provided with regular overlaps and group conferences.

In addition, WEAP's published research in the American Journal of Mental Deficiency (November 2005 issue) followed Dr. Ivar Lovaas' research in 1987 and 1993 wherein 48% of the children that joined the extensive behavioural treatment had the ability to catch up and participate effectively in regular school.
